About nails…
Published by Sassyjan May 29th, 2006 in Rants, RecommendationsActually this post is suppose to be a ‘HEY! I’M BACK!’ post.
But I just didn’t have the mood to write about the trip yet,
and I’m too lazy to resize, sort out the photos and all, so… yea…

So I did my nails before I headed for the trip.
I walked in for my mani & pedi appointment and said,
‘Today don’t want french liao… I want bright colors.’
Approximately an hour later, I emerged a very happy lady with pretty nails.

Gorgeous ain’t it? Drawn freehand one okay!
I is happy.

I’ve often been asked about my nails, or rather, where I had them done.
So I thought, rather than answering everyone one by one,
and explaining why I adore my manicurist, I would blog about it once & for all.
I started venturing into getting my manicures done professional when I started working.
It was like a ‘I feel good’ thing that I look at my nails,
and am reminded that I earn enough to splurge on myself to look pretty.
So for years, I hopped around a couple of nail salons.
I usually goes to whichever is convenient for me and didn’t need appointments.
Still, I was more of a regular at Plaza Singapura’s Good Earth Nail Spa
as my then-office was somewhere in that area and I could hop in after work.
I stopped patronising them 2 yrs ago when I quit and eventually worked at Raffles area.
So when Jas gave me a Good Earth Nail Spa voucher for my birthday earlier this year,
I headed back there once again to utilise the voucher and smile at the familiarity.
That was when I met Anne.

After meeting tons and tons of different manicurists, I can safely say,
Anne is the most skillful and careful manicurist I had ever met.
I am a total sucker for french manicures coz of the very classic and clean look.
Not many manicurists does it to perfection though.
The curves on the side instead of straight line, the white capping of the nail tip etc.
Especially, (this is one of my biggest manicure peeve) when:
1) they dun clean the sides properly when the polish spill over.
2) they leave bits of gap at the corners/sides thinking it can’t be seen.
These are little things which completes the entire look of the manicure,
simple as it may sound, it is not something every manicurist can achieve.
The skills aside, the manicurist must be amicable without being intruding.
Anne mastered that to perfection.
I sometimes find myself giving the excuse of color change just to see her.
That aside too, not to hard sell me with their nail products and packages.
I hate it when I can’t relax when I’m doing these stuffs.
And I totally abhor being psycho-ed into buying things I don’t need at all.
Make me pissed and unsatisfied, and I would never go back again.
I’ve often boycotted those salons due to the above reasons.
I’m now totally committed to Anne who does my nails come rain or shine.
She used to be at Good Earth Nail Spa @ Plaza Singapura but has now ‘moved’.

I think I’ve digressed way too much.
Whatever it is, here’s where I get my weekly fix:
Nails by Good Earth
West Mall (At Bukit Batok MRT)
Tel: 68611912
Do call for appointment as they can get quite busy there.
And do request for Anne when you make the appointment.
(I’ve tried another manicurist once when Anne went on leave. One word - BAD.)
If I’m not wrong, their operation hours is 11am to 9pm.
Hope this post helps!

Welcome back.
BTW you mentioned one of the reasons why you left Blogger was because you’re sick of popups, and now the iLead popup thing is back. Maybe you could consider banner ads instead?
